In celebration of Black History Month, we are featuring a number of Black founders and technologists. For this one, we are featuring Renaldo Webb, a MIT alum and founder of PetPlate.
Renaldo Webb is the founder of Pet Plate, a fresh-cooked, human-grade pet food subscription service. Webb realized that pet owners wanted a fresh option. He could launch a business that would “make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets across the country.” He was on Shark Tank in June of 2016 and although none of the sharks invested at the time, he has continued to grow his business since then and Pet Plate is celebrating its 6th year this year.
Renaldo has a B.S. in Physics from MIT and has worked for McKinsey & Company and Catterton Partner’s Operating group.
Semmie is the host of the MITEF Community Stream series that launched in 2020. She works in healthcare and analytics, and has a background in neuroscience and epidemiology.
